John is a very talented singer and, with emotive guitar playing, will keep you riveted with his songs and stories mainly about the American way of life, love and tragedy. His brand of dry humour and introductions are well known and appreciated all over the North East and especially at The Candlelite Club.

Marie is another talented and well-loved local singer who has performed at our club many times. Her alternative, earthy, humour is also well known and performs a whole variety of songs from the heart. A great evening is in store.

George and Helen Armstrong have now stepped down from the Folk Club Steering Group after many years of faithful service in chairing and functioning as the main coordinator of the group and the club with lots of support from the other members. We thank them both, most sincerely, for all the effort and time in promoting and running our club. The remaining members of the steering group will keep the club going for the foreseeable future and regular supporters will be encouraged to help on club nights with setting up and tidying up at the end of the evening. Thank you George and Helen.
